I am m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor with 15 years of experience.
I founded M. & S. Counseling Services in 2011 and have provided therapy for individuals in this private practice setting since its opening. I have also worked in the VA system, in a non-profit setting, and community mental health.
I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and Master Certified A.R.T Therapist. I've been trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, CBT for Depression, and Prime for Life.

Melissa graduated with degrees in Psychology and Social Work from Franklin College and Indiana University. Her area of study was in mental health and addictions.
Her career has been dedicated to helping others improve their lives while working in the private sector and the Criminal Justice field where she has worked with people struggling to overcome difficult life situations.
Her approach is reality based, strengths focused, and is committed to helping others find peace. Through empowerment, she strives to help others discover their inner strength, realize their self worth, and see their value as human beings.
She is genuine, and believes that it is normal for people to experience difficult times in their lives, but views these times as opportunities for people to grow.
Melissa provides group counseling, individual counseling, and psycho-education, while focusing on addictions, women’s issues, codependency, trauma and abuse, relationship problems, sexual orientation, sexual maladaptive behaviors, and legal issues.
Melissa uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, and Integrated Therapy and works with adults.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, graduating from Indiana University in 2019 with my master’s degree in social work. My concentration was in mental health and addictions.
My focus is to empower individuals in reaching their full potential by identifying ways to cope with life’s ups and downs. I believe that every individual has the ability from within themselves to maintain a healthy and successful lifestyle, through identifying personal strengths and resiliency.
My goal is to assist you in this process by offering a safe and trusting environment. I know this can be a challenging process, but I will be here with you every step of the way in your journey to a healthy and successful lifestyle.
My practice is centered around working with adolescents, college students and adults. I have experience working with depression/anxiety, self-harm behaviors and/or suicidal ideation, substance use, trauma, behavioral concerns, school issues, family and peer relationships, grief/loss and stress/anger management.
