Q&As

Do you accept insurance?

No.  We  are  not  paneled  with  any  insurance  companies  which  means  we  do  not  submit  claims  or  receive  reimbursement  through  your  private  insurance  provider.    Payment would be made at time of service.  We  will  provide  you  a  receipt  or  “Superbill”  which  you  can  submit  to  your  insurance  company  for  possible  reimbursement.    Before  coming  in  we  recommend  that  you  call  your  insurance  company  to  see  if  they  will  reimburse  you  for  an  “out  of  network  provider.”

What questions should I ask my insurance company to help determine my reimbursement rate?

Call your insurance company directly and ask:

  • Are mental health and/or substance abuse services covered under my plan?
  • Will my plan provide reimbursement for "out of network providers?"
  • Do I have to meet a deductible prior to receiving reimbursement?
  • How much of the charge would be covered?

Please note that most Medicaid/Medicare services will not reimburse an out of network provider.

What can I expect when I start therapy?

  • Prior to your first session you will receive an invitation to our client portal to review our office policy, your client rights and responsibilities, and an intake questionnaire to complete prior to your first session.
  • Your  first session will be 60 minutes.
  • Your therapist will review some general clinic policy as well as answer any questions that arise during the session.
  • Most of  session is used as an open conversation to discuss life history, current problem bringing you to therapy, and what would you like to achieve by coming in.

How do I know if my therapist is a good fit for me?

  • You are encouraged to request a 15 minute free phone consultation with one of our therapist prior to your first session to determine your comfort level and if we are the best therapist for your needs.
  • If the phone consultation goes well, your first session is the second opportunity to determine if  the therapist is a good fit your you.
  • Fit is VERY important, so if for any reason you don't feel totally comfortable,  please let them know.
  • They will HAPPILY provide you with a referral to another provider for psychiatric services.
  • Having a good fit is a crucial piece to making progress and we want to ensure this with every person we see.

Is our therapy confidential?

Yes.  We maintain confidentiality of all services under the string guidelines of HIPAA standards or federal regulations 42 CFR.

Exceptions to this include:

  • If you sign a release of information allowing us to share information with another person or agency.
  • Concern for safety of yourself or another person.
  • If there is suspected child or elder abuse.  (We are mandated reporters. )
  • Court subpoena.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth is a secure platform allowing us to conduct therapy from the comfort of your home with the use of a smart phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone.  It's an easy, convenient way to offer services.

We are able to provide therapy to anyone who resides and is located in the state of Indiana and not just residents of Franklin.

How long will I be in therapy and how often should I come?

Everyone's pace in therapy is individualized and tailored to fit your specific needs.  With that said, the length of time can depend on your goals, commitment to the process, and a realistic timeline for change to occur.  We will discuss this with when we discuss your specific treatment goals.

We normally recommend you start therapy on a weekly basis, but will work with you based on your need or special circumstance.  We are here to support and tailor a plan that works for you while maintaining integrity of your treatment.
